Springbank 15 Year Old Distillery Bottling Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

SKU #620014 96-100 points Wine Enthusiast

The complex, understated bouquet finds aromas of barley malt, seaweed, heather, oaky vanilla, honey, sherry cask, scrambled egg and minerals. The palate entry is oily, buttery and oaky sweet; by midpalate the flavors include assertive tastes of marzipan, marshmallow, baked pear/peach pastry and bacon fat. Finishes with a luscious fruit/grape thrust. A masterpiece. (4/2008)

92 points Whisky Advocate

The nose is complex, with almonds, coconut, soft leather, tropical fruits, and stewed black tea. Hints of brine and peat appear. The palate is rounded and rich, with more tropical fruits, sherry, caramel, pipe tobacco, wood smoke, and spicy tannins. The finish is relatively long and creamy, with lingering smokiness. All the classic Springbank elements merge nicely here. (GS, Spring 2018)

All the great richness and weight of the 10 with more sherry and more spice cake. A true classic.

Richer and more mellow than: Port Charlotte Peat. Much less peaty than: Talisker 10. Kinda maybe like: Cragganmore 12. I got butterscotch candy and salty, nutty notes a little like a Jura whisky from a sample of this dram; it's got nice lemony, butterscotchy notes that are appealing.
