SKU #1390995 92 points Whisky Advocate

Tangerines on the nose, then Turkish Delight, sliced cucumber, new leather, toffee, soft spices, and a hint of char. Mouth-coating, with sweet orchard fruits dipped in cream. Sharper fruit notes in time, with almonds and ginger. Icing sugar, milk chocolate, spicy oak, a fleeting savory note, and lingering fruitiness in the finish. Shows well-integrated character. *Collectibles* (GS, Fall 2019)

Glorious. An amazing array of flavors and decidedly the kind of whisky you can spend all night dissecting. The complexity of cask selection indeed speaks to the blender's Black Arts. The whole comes together in such a seamless way that it is very difficult to describe and pick out individual components. It is clear that there is a fair influence of wine casks of various types. Sherry of all persuasions seem to meld together with sweet red notes of the finest French reds of Burgundy and Bordeaux. The liquid is honeyed, nutty, and laden with fruits both fresh and dry. While I tend to enjoy whisky on its own, I would love to tuck into a bottle with a smorgasbord of cheese and charcuterie. It's fantastic by itself, but it calls out for food in a way that I rarely experience in whisky. Want to build a cozy holiday dinner around a dram with your closest friends? This is the bottle to do it with.
