Against the Grain "London Balling" English-Style Barleywine aged in Angel's Envy Bourbon Barrels, Kentucky (16oz Cans)

From the brewery: "English style barleywine aged in Angel's Envy bourbon barrels. Brewed with enough Maris Otter pale, Aromatic and caramel malts to nearly overflow our mash tun. We then balanced this beer with some English Nugget and Kent Goldings hops. The resulting ale was sweet, nutty and powerful, but we didn't stop there. The entire batch was put into used Angel's Envy barrels for nearly 3 months to gather the residual bourbon flavor and some aromatic and drying oak notes. By the way, Balling is a measurement of specific gravity."

2009 Lanessan, Haut-Médoc

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Ripe black currant fruit with some cedar wood, licorice and wood spice are all present in this generously endowed, concentrated, low-acid Lanessan. The tannins are silky, and the overall impression is one of elegance, plumpness and beautiful intensity. This is a sleeper of the vintage and one that should only improve over the next several years and merit an outstanding rating. It should keep for up to two decades. (89+) (RP) ... 2017 Domaine Tempier Bandol

From Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant: "When Lucie "Lulu" Tempier married Lucien Peyraud in 1936, her father gave them Domaine Tempier, an active farm that had been in the family since 1834, near Le Plan du Castellet, just outside the Mediterranean seaport village of Bandol. Tasting a pre-phylloxera bottle of Domaine Tempier Bandol (a wedding gift from his father-in-law) inspired Lucien to research the terroir of Bandol extensively. Up until that point, old vineyards planted with Mourvèdre had been systematically replanted to higher-yielding varietals. Howeve ...

Hakkaisan Yukimuro Junmai Gingo Sake (720ml)

This beautiful Junmai Ginjo is aged for a minimum of 3 years in Hakkai Brewery’s snow-storage room, called the Yukimuro. The flavor is initially subdued, before it unfolds into the rich and solid sake that it is. While nestled comfortably in tanks chilled by literal tons of pure white snow, it develops into a round and smooth sake with a subtle and fine aroma and a mellow, dry finish.

Penderyn Madeira Cask Single Malt Welsh Whisky (750ml)

Wine Enthusiast: "Fruity scents of baked banana, spiced apple and dry, kernel- and cereal-like grain element; palate entry is semisweet, oaky, concentrated, grainy and smooth; the midpalate mirrors the entry with emphasis on the oak. Finishes elegantly, with a bittersweet dash of vanilla bean." (04/2007) K&L Notes: Ah, the circle of life! Distilling in Wales goes back 250 years, and Welsh distillers were the "Founding Fathers" of the American Bourbon industry! So, it is wonderful to see distilling happening again in Wales. 2016 Alban "Patrina" Estate Edna Valley Syrah

Winery notes: While the grapes for Patrina are raised with the same detail and attentiveness as the rest of our vineyards, and then fermented open top with indigenous yeast, gentle pump overs and a few punch downs once soft, it is bottled unfined and unfiltered after ‘just’ 22 months in barrel to preserve its youthful exuberance. All the density and concentration folks have come to expect from our reds with black and blue fruits, mineral notes, and flowers.

2017 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Chorey-Lès-Beaune

89-91 points Vinous: "The 2017 Chorey-lès-Beaune Village is the usual blend of three sectors of the appellation that Nathalie Tollot blended in the proportion of what will represent the final blend, since each is raised separately. It sees no new oak. The perfumed cranberry and wild strawberry bouquet is nicely defined, and the pretty palate shows quite sharp acidity that lends freshness and edginess. I like the fruit profile here - very pure and full of life with a vigorous, refreshing finish that leaves a spicy residue. Very fine.(NM)" (01/2019) Alle ...

Almost all Grenache (there's a small part of Syrah and Cinsault) that was harvest between September 1-13, partially destemmed and aged in both tank and foudre, this massive, voluptuous effort is almost overflowing with notes of ground herbs, chocolate dusted meats, black fruits and licorice.
