2006 Sine Qua Non "The Raven No. 1" Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2006 Sine Qua Non "The Raven No. 1" Grenache (98RP, 97JD, 97WS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah, largely from the 11 Confessions Vineyard, with a small amount from Bien Nacido, spent 21 months in barrel. It is really strutting its stuff now, and showing even better than my original note predicted in August of 2009. The wine has loads of meat, licorice, smoke, charcoal and graphite, as well as huge peppery, blackberry and black cherry notes. Full-bodied, with great acidity, nicely integrated tannin, an admirable mouthfeel and tremendous length, this killer Grenache is still young and probably 3-5 years away from prime time drinking. 1989 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 1989 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (92RP, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1989 is undoubtedly the Cabernet Sauvignon of the vintage. The color is a dark ruby/purple and the nose offers up sweet, fragrant scents of black fruits, cedar, herbs, and spicy wood. In the mouth, there is extraordinary concentration, medium to full body, and an authoritatively rich, lingering finish. Terroirists will have a difficult time explaining why the wine tastes more like a Pomerol than Napa Cabernet. Interestingly, Moueix stated the key to his success in 1989 was to wait six to seven days after the rains had stopped before harvesting so the vines could shed their excess moisture. The 7,000 cases of this wine that were produced will be released in the fall of 1993. (RP)" (10/1993)

In the mouth, flavors of black plums, mint-menthol and tobacco—all with a foresty accent—fill the palate. On the heavy side of medium-weight, with a supple texture, it has a long, toasty finish with fine tannins. " (11/2000)

1974 Pio Cesare Barolo
Bid on this bottle of 1974 Pio Cesare Barolo. Pio Cesare is a wine producer in Piedmont, Italy, particularly known for its elegant Barolo and Barbaresco wines. The estate was founded in 1881 by Cesare Pio, and is one of the oldest in the region and one of the first to export. It is still owned and run by his descendants. From Robert Parker's Wine Buying Guide: "One of the oldest firms in Piedmont (founded in 1881) and one of the few to operate out of the village of Alba, Pio Cesare is the most recent in an unending string of traditional Piedmontese winemakers. The house is going through a transitional stage, trying to fashion a middle ground between the traditionally styled wines of the past and the new-wave modernists. It continues to make subtle winemaking refinements that enhance the wines' fruit character without compromising their full-bodied, ageworthy style. I still have bottles of 1969 and 1970 Pio Cesare Barolos that are drinking beautifully at nearly 20 years of age." (2002

Although the Bricco Luciani is quite sensual, it also has enough pure depth to drink well for another decade, perhaps longer. (AG)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Rudd "Oakville Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sensational proprietary red wine blend from Leslie Rudd, this 2004 is composed of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 8% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc from a top-notch vineyard on the Oakville Crossroads sandwiched between Screaming Eagle and Plumpjack. Flawlessly assembled with not a hard edge to be found, it boasts a dense ruby/purple color, copious notes of graphite and black fruits, sweet tannin, a voluptuous, opulent texture, and terrific purity as well as freshness. 2002 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More serious and foreboding as well as opulent and close to full maturity is the sexy, voluptuously textured, deep, concentrated, dense plum/purple-colored 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Fashioned from the estate’s finest Cabernet lots, it possesses terrific ripeness, a silky, plush texture, a big, full-bodied, broad, savory, deep, well-textured mouthfeel, and a 45-second finish. This gorgeous wine will offer both intellectual and hedonistic pleasure for another 12-15 years. This enviable and venerable winery high on top Spring Mountain straddles the Napa and Sonoma county lines. These three sensational 2002s are all capable of lasting another 10-15+ years. 2005 d'Armailhac, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 d'Armailhac, Pauillac (92DC, 92W&S, 90RP, 90WE, 90WS). Decanter: "This is almost the perfect time to drink this wine, although it still needs decanting to bring out the plush strokes of fruit. Aromatically, it majors on cassis, liquorice, cedar and patisserie. This is a lovely wine, a classic Pauillac that is not overly intense and retains a sense of juiciness. Of the three Pauillac estates tasted here, this 2005 is the one to open today. (JA)"

The wine has power, but it is harnessed by the intense fruits, the blackberry flavors, the density and the wood. With the power, though, comes elegance, resulting in a wine that is ready to develop over many years. *Best of 2008, Cellar Selection* (RV)" (06/2008)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Harlan "The Maiden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (93RP, 93WS, 92ST, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As outstanding as the 2008 is, it is eclipsed by the brilliant 2007 The Maiden, perhaps the finest second wine yet made here. Sweet tobacco leaf, fruitcake, creme de cassis, black currant and licorice aromas emerge from this round, opulent, voluptuously textured wine. It is very much in keeping with the 2007 vintage. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 La Gaffelière, St-Emilion (96RP, 95JS, 93WS, 92W&S, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest La Gaffeliere I have ever tasted, the prodigious 2005 boasts a dense ruby/purple color in addition to a flamboyant bouquet of lead pencil shavings, creme de cassis, blackberries, smoked meats, incense, and Asian spice. Fabulously deep and full-bodied as well as ethereal and exceptionally elegant for its explosive richness and intensity, its lightness of being reflects the vineyard’s sensational terroir. This succulent beauty appears to be approachable, but that belies some significant tannins. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2030+. (RP)" (04/2008)

2002 Corison "Kronos" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Corison "Kronos" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91ST, 90WE). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Red cherry, currant, plum and a floral note on the nose; this struck me as rather Burgundian. Supple, fresh and sweet, with juicy flavors of plum, cherry, mint and flowers. Offers enticing complexity and cut. Finishes with very sweet, fine-grained tannins. The 35-year-old vines here typically yield just a ton and a half of fruit per acre. This benchland Cabernet produces ripe flavors and ripe tannins early, but the St. George rootstock helps to slow down sugar accumulation, notes Corison, who added that this wine has less than 14% alcohol. 2009 Sine Qua Non "The Thrill of Stamp Collecting" Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Sine Qua Non "The Thrill of Stamp Collecting" Syrah (95RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Syrah The Thrill Of impresses for its poise and underlying energy. Dark fruit, spices, licorice and violets sit on a core of firm tannin as this powerful wine opens up in the glass. Today, The Thrill Of comes across as very, very young. The intensity of the fruit and the oak are dominant at present. In another few years the wine should be spectacular. 1994 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This hedonistic Cabernet Sauvignon's saturated purple color is accompanied by an exuberant, sweet, enveloping fragrance of smoky new oak, and jammy blackberry and cassis fruit. In the mouth, this lavishly wooded, black fruit-filled Cabernet is extremely full-bodied, with superb levels of fruit, glycerin, and extract. Like many 1994 Cabernet Sauvignons, it possesses extraordinary equilibrium, with the sweet tannin giving the wine considerable accessibility. The finish lasts for nearly 30 seconds. This will be a fun wine to drink young, but do not discount its aging ability as it should last for two decades. (RP)" (12/1997)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1998 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (94WS, 93JD, 90ST). Wine Spectator: "This has always been one of the harder-edged wines of the vintage, but it is showing some signs of softening. The color remains dark, with aromas of grilled herb, tobacco and beef leading the way for currant, chestnut and garrigue notes that are carried by the prominent tannin structure. The chewy, mouthfilling finish is starting to let some sweet flesh come out from behind the iron and stone notes. Still needs time, but this is rock solid. (JS)" (09/2007)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A big wine from the Barrett family (14.2% alcohol), this 2003 exhibits earthy black currant fruit, the restrained but intense Montelena style, full body, good richness and impeccable balance, purity and density. The color is a healthy dark ruby/purple and the wine shows lots of cassis. In spite of the restrained aromatics, the palate is rich, full-bodied, substantial and persuasive. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 DuMol "Estate" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (95CG, 94ST, 93WS, 92JS, 92RP). Connoisseurs Guide: "While we go back and forth in deciding just which of DuMOL's latests is our pick of the bunch, this estate bottling wins a place at the very head of the class. It is as wonderfully pure in fruit as it is impeccably balanced with perfectly ripened fruit running its length. It is so supple and polished in feel as to be almost too easy to taste in its youth, but it is structured and firm beneath its smooth façade, and its length on the palate is stunning. It hints at layering and complexity to come, so again, if its sheer fruity succulence does not draw you in and compel pulling its cork a little too early, know that it will reward aging and promises to grow incrementally more and more complex in the half-dozen or so years ahead." 2014 Domenico Clerico Barolo
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2014 Domenico Clerico Barolo (93RP, 92JS, 90VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This was a very expensive year to make wine. The team at Domenico Clerico had to deal with three devastating hail storms and were forced to use helicopters (something that is no longer allowed today) for vineyard treatments. Happily, the 2014 Barolo seems to have moved past its difficult birth. Tasted today at this young stage in its evolution, the wine is steady and intense with lovely berry tones that rise delicately to the top. The mouthfeel is also richer and more complete than I expected. The blend is 90% Nebbiolo from Ginestra and 10% from Mosconi. (ML)" (06/2018)

2005 La Rioja Alta "904" Gran Reserva Rioja
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 La Rioja Alta "904" Gran Reserva Rioja (96RP, 96WE, 95JS, 94VN, 93W&S, 92WS, 90DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Gran Reserva 904 is a superb blend of Tempranillo from the villages of Briñas, Labastida and Villalba with 10% Graciano from Briones and Rodezno. The grapes were destemmed and crushed and fermented in stainless steel for 18 days at 25 C. Malolactic fermentation was spontaneous and lasted 38 days. These wines are marked by a long aging in used American oak barrels following the most strict Riojan tradition; four years during which time the wine was manually racked eight times. This is usually my favorite wine from La Rioja Alta and 2005 is one of its best showings, going back to the quality of the vintages of the 1950s and 60s. The nose is very balsamic with notes of camphor, hints of mint, leather and hung game wrapped around a core of cherries in liqueur. Together it is balanced, subtle, truly elegant and classical. The palate is

Wine Enthusiast: "Aromas of peat, fire pit, earth and funk are followed by elegantly styled fruit and savory flavors that show deftness and length. It's a very pretty expression of the area, putting a focus on elegance. (SPS)" (11/2016)

2014 Salicutti Rosso di Montalcino
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Salicutti Rosso di Montalcino (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The vineyard name Sorgente has been removed from the label of the 2014 Rosso di Montalcino. No Brunello was produced in this vintage and fruit from various sites contributed to this wine. For this reason, the single-vineyard name was no longer applicable. This wine offers a beautiful sense of linearity and brightness with an impactful presentation of berry fruit. The wine has the crispness to pair with your favorite Tuscan pasta dishes. Drink through 2024. (ML) 91+" (05/2017)

2014 Williams Selyem "Bacigalupi" Russian River Valley Zinfandel
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014 Williams Selyem "Bacigalupi" Russian River Valley Zinfandel. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium garnet in color, the 2014 Zinfandel Bacigalupi Vineyard displays scents of black fruit compote, dates, fig paste and black earth with wafts of oolong tea and Chinese five spice. Voluptuously fruited on the full-bodied palate, it has a chewy, rather rustic structure and long, earth laced finish. (LPB)" (04/2017)

2012 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard, which will probably be released in a few months, displays great minerality, notes of honeysuckle, orange marmalade, poached pear, and white flowers as well as a touch of quince. A wine of great intensity, yet incredibly ethereal elegance, this light greenish gold-colored wine is full-bodied, stunningly rich, and altogether remarkable. When you consider that they use 100% new French oak and 100% heavy toast for both their Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, it is remarkable how little oak appears in these wines. This wine should age well for 10-15 years, as most of the Marcassin Estate Chardonnays have done to date. (RP)" (03/2016)

2016 Realm "The Tempest" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Realm "The Tempest" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97JD, 96JS, 95RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting with the thee blends (The Tempest, Falstaff, and The Bard), the 2016 The Tempest is always a Merlot-dominated release and is 66% Merlot and 34% Cabernet Sauvignon in 2016. It comes from multiple sites in the valley and sports a deep purple color as well as a rocking bouquet of plums, chocolate, scorched earth, and spice box, with an alluring mole-like character developing in the glass. It’s deep, rich, and powerful on the palate, yet has a forward, layered style as well as rocking purity, no hard edges, sweet tannins, and a great finish. My money is on it being one of the finest Merlot-dominated blends in the vintage." (09/2018)

1995 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1995 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 92VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, and the last wine made by Pam Starr at Rombauer Vineyards, the 1995 offers worthy competition to the magnificent 1994, which was more highly heralded. A touch of spring flowers, intermixed with crème de cassis, licorice, lead-pencil shavings and cedar, are all present in this wine of great intensity and full-bodied power, but with an elegance and finesse that, again, similarly suggests a Château Margaux made in St. Helena. This beautiful wine should continue to drink well for another 25 years. (RP)" (08/2016)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Aubert "Larry Hyde & Sons Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay ((96-98RP), 94VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chardonnay Larry Hyde & Sons (1,000 cases) comes from a 4-acre vineyard that produces nearly 1,000 cases. The straw color reveals a greenish hue, and the wine bursts from the glass with notes of exotic fruits, wet stones, limes and white peaches. It has a kinship to a great Coche-Dury Corton-Charlemagne. Complex and full-bodied with stunning purity, richness and acidity, this killer Chardonnay should drink well for 6-10 years. (RP)" (12/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98RP, 96VN, 95WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The classic 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon included fruit from the 2-acre, old vine parcel that is nearly 70 years of age. It boasts an opaque purple color as well as copious notes of spring flowers, blackberries, black raspberries and wet rocks. The wine’s gravelly minerality and spectacular opulence and density make it an instant classic. This massive, full-bodied 2012 should drink beautifully for 15-20+ years. It showed incredibly well last year, and it still reveals the potential to possibly merit a 3-digit score – it’s that special. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe (96RP, 94VN, 94W&S, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at Bordeaux Index’s 2000 tasting in London. This is a fantastic Cos d’Estournel that I was unsure about out of barrel, but is now blossoming with age. It is adorned with a lovely nose: blackberry, wild hedgerow, espresso, a touch of chocolate and sandalwood. Very fine definition and vigour. The palate is full-bodied with ripe tannins, superb symmetrical structure, dense, obdurate black fruits, a saline note, very well balanced, very focused, broadening out nicely towards the ravishing, supple finish. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2000 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (96JS, 96RP, 96WE, 95WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I find this to be a spectacular Pichon Lalande. Dense purple in color, with loads of coffee, mocha, creme de cassis, and chocolate notes, this is a somewhat unusual blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and a whooping 10% Petit Verdot, with a little bit of Cabernet Franc. The Petit Verdot certainly gives the wine more of a tapenade, floral note, which I think can be interpreted by some as herbal. (RP)" (06/2010)

Full-bodied, wonderfully creamy, spicy and gregarious, it has so much verve and expression, finishing very long, layered and minerally. (LPB)" (10/2017)

2015 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99JS, (97-99RP), 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is closed and largely unyielding at this very youthful stage. With coaxing, it offers up black cherries, crushed blackberries and mulberries notes with hints of pencil lead, damp soil, truffles, licorice and dark chocolate plus a waft of cigar boxes. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is as tight as anything, displaying a rock-solid backbone of taut, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness to support the muscular fruit, finishing with earth and mineral layers. This is a stunning wine that really will need a good 4-5 years in bottle, at least, and should give much pleasure over the next 25-30 years. This was tasted as a barrel sample. (LPB)" (10/2017)

1991 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 1991 E. Guigal "La Turque" Côte-Rôtie (99RP, 98JS, 97VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1991 La Turque behaves as if it wants to be the northern Rhone's answer to Richebourg and Musigny. However, with the exception of Domaine Leroy, you cannot find a Richebourg or Musigny with the richness and complexity possessed by this awesome wine. The saturated dark purple color is followed by a wine that is surprisingly lighter in the mouth than its great flavor intensity and rich extraction would suggest. It is a winemaking tour de force in that Guigal has been able to cram phenomenal levels of fruit, complexity, and richness into this velvety-textured wine without causing it to taste heavy. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard, which comes primarily from the Calera clone (although I suspect there are a few mystery clones in their plantings), always seems to remind me of a grand cru from Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, particularly Morey-St.-Denis. Dense ruby/plum, its sweet nose of strawberries, black cherry liqueur, fresh porcini mushrooms and forest floor is followed by a dark, full-bodied, rich and concentrated wine that is supple, dramatic, and even flamboyant. Drink it over the next 12-15 years. (RP)" (03/2016)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Note from 2013 review, re-reviewed with no new note in 2014: We finished the Chardonnay portion of the tasting with Mark Aubert’s favorite wine, the 2012 Chardonnay Lauren Estate, which comes from rich Goldridge soils. There are 1,000 cases of this straw/greenish-colored beauty fashioned from various clones, including the Old Wente, Hyde, Hudson Corton-Charlemagne selection and the Mt. Eden clones. It possesses more of a tannic backbone than its siblings because of its grip. Full-bodied with lots of honeyed citrus, orange marmalade and abundant fruit on the attack and mid-palate, this youthful Chardonnay seems barely touched by its oak aging. All of these 2012s will be irresistible when released in 2014, but should age beautifully for 6-10+ years. Rita Hills and spent 33 months in 27% new French oak. My notes start - and end - with “Wow.” Giving up tons of black raspberries, peppery herbs, licorice, dried flowers and cured meats, it’s a massively concentrated, rich and layered Grenache that somehow manages to stay graceful, lively and fresh on the palate.
