Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Ornellaia" Bolgheri Superiore (98JS, 96WS, 94ST, 93RP). James Suckling: "This is just a baby with so much extract and density yet always polished and beautiful. Full body, velvety tannins with a dusty and gritty texture. Complex flavors of fruit, tar and smoked meat. Solid all around. Powerful still. Drink or hold. " (11/2016)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1998 Domaine la Bouissiere Gigondas. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Gigondas (70% Grenache and 30% Syrah) exhibits a dense purple color as well as a sweet, unevolved nose of minerals and black fruits. There is good underlying acidity, finesse, sweet cassis, and plenty of density and concentration. It will be long-lived, but it requires 3-5 years of cellaring. (RP)" (10/2000)
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1998 Domaine la Milliere "Cuvée Unique VV" Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Jeb Dunnuck writes: "Proprietors Amié and Michel Arnaud of Domaine La Millière make a classic, balanced style of Châteauneuf du Pape that ages gracefully."
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Pape-Clément, Pessac-Léognan (95WS, 94W&S, 93RP, 91ST). Wine Spectator: "An amazing nose of sweet tobacco, orange peel, cigar box and exotic fruit. Lots of tar too. Full-bodied, with exotic and spicy flavors that are slightly decadent and funky, but wild and wonderful, from leather to dried fruits. Just a baby, too. Give this more age. (JS)" (06/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Bodegas Numanthia-Termes "Numanthia" Toro (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Numanthia is an explosively rich, super-concentrated wine of riveting intensity. The color is a dense purple, and the wine has soaked up its 18 months in new French oak. It offers a smoky, blackberry and cherry-scented nose of extraordinary purity and precision. Full-bodied, enormously-endowed, and unctuously-textured, this monstrous wine displays tremendous potential. Because of its low acidity, it can be approached now, but it is best aged for another 2-3 years, and drunk over the following two decades. This compelling new offering proves what can be achieved in the appellation of Toro. Bravo! (RP)" (08/2001)
Starting Bid: $146.41

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia (98RP, 97VN, 97WS, 95W&S, 95WE, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that flirts with perfection, and should rival the 1986 as one of the legendary Granges produced, the 1998 has one of the highest alcohol contents (nearly 15%) as well as one of the highest percentages of Shiraz in the blend (97%). Its stunning purple color is accompanied by exceptionally sweet aromas of blackberry liqueur intermixed with barbecue spices, an endearing, smoky earthiness, pepper, roasted meats, and coffee. Huge, massive, unctuously textured, and extraordinarily youthful, this impressive wine is a candidate for perfection. It should continue to evolve over the next three decades. (RP) 98+" (06/2009)

Bid on this magnum of 1998 Krug Brut Champagne (1.5L) (98W&S, 98WS, 96WE, 95JG, 95RP, 94VN). Wine Spectator: "This harmonious Champagne offers luxurious texture and powerful, focused acidity, showing aromatic accents of spring blossom, crushed thyme and chai, with rich notes of lemon meringue, hazelnut, black currant and fresh porcini mushroom. The full package. Impressive. Drink now through 2028." (11/2012)
