Bid on this magnum of 1986 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (95RP, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Two of the most impressive wines in these tastings, both of Dunn's 1986s tasted like 3-4-year old Cabernets rather than 10-year old adolescents. The opaque purple-colored 1986 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain offers awesome richness, mindboggling intensity, huge tannin, a massive mouthfeel, and a closed yet formidably long, well-endowed finish. This wine could be put in a tasting of 1994 California Cabernets and not stand out as a 10-year old wine. Give it another 5-7 years of cellaring and drink it over the subsequent 25-30 years ... amazing! (RP)" (08/1996)
Starting Bid: $313.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1986 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Pinot Noir. While Robert Mondavi was a pioneer is every regard in Napa Valley, the Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignons have always been the calling card. However, the estate can also claim a piece of history with their Napa Valley Pinot Noir bottlings. Made in an era when the grape was far more widely planted in the valley (and the wines were far more classically Burgundian in style), this is a true rarity in all senses of the word.
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this bottle of 1986 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (94RP, 93VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1986 Lynch Bages has a knockout bouquet that wraps its arms around you with all its loveliness: pure black cherries, mint and cedar, even a touch of glycerine still there. Vibrant and youthful. The palate is beautifully balanced, crisp and taut, linear but very precise with a fine bead of acidity. You just fall for the harmony of this Lynch Bages, the intensity of fruit that seems undiminished on the finish. Is it up there with the 1989 and 1990? Maybe not, but it is not far behind. Frankly this Lynch Bages is a 1986 Claret that you cannot own too much of and as I commented to Jean-Michel Cazes tasting alongside me, at 30 years of age it still has more to give. (NM)" (12/2016)
Starting Bid: $170.00

Bid on this bottle of 1986 Palmer, Margaux (94WS, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "Smooth and succulent, with attractive earth, tobacco and cassis aromas and flavors. Despite its intensity and concentration, it never loses its sense of balance and harmony." (06/1989)
Starting Bid: $170.88

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92JG). John Gilman: "The 1986 Martha‚Äôs Vineyard is still an impressively young wine and a bit bound up in its adolescence crankiness at the present time, though the underlying quality here is quite evident. The nose offers up a deep mélange of black cherries, a bit of tariness, eucalyptus, cigar ash, fine soil tones, cedar and a topnote of Rutherford dust. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and still quite tight, with a rock solid core of fruit, moderate tannins, tangy acids and fine focus on the long and still quite closed finish. I may be underrating this vintage a tad, but the wine is still quite reticent and needs a handful more years of bottle age before it really starts to stir from its extended hibernation. Drink between 2016-2050. 92+" (05/2011)
Starting Bid: $260.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Diamond Creek "Red Rock Terrace" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92WS). Wine Spectator: "Dark, ripe, rich and concentrated, with vibrant currant, black cherry, tar, sage and spice, it packs in lots of complex flavors. Still has a long way to go. (JL)" (06/1998)
Starting Bid: $290.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1986 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The fully mature, open-knit 1986 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve is totally delicious. The color is dark garnet with some amber at the edge. The big, sweet, licorice, earthy, jammy, black fruit-scented nose is followed by a full-bodied, sweet, expansive, chewy wine with no hard edges. The acidity and tannin are both well-integrated in this plump, sumptuous Cabernet Sauvignon. (RP)" (08/1996)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (97WS). Wine Spectator: "Amazingly elegant and complex featuring rich cedar, currant, black cherry and cassis notes, with grace, harmony and the kind of structure that should ensure it will age beautifully until the turn of the century. The aftertaste echoes cherry flavors. *Ranked #4 on Top 100 Wines of 1989* " (05/1989)
Starting Bid: $300.00
