Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru (93BH, (91-93VN)). Vinous: "Bright red-ruby. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, bitter chocolate and smoky minerals. Juicy, precise blackberry and licorice flavors convey much more cut and inner-mouth tension than the Clos Vougeot. Densely packed, concentrated and plenty ripe, showing a lovely balance of fruit, sweetness and energy. Finishes with firm tannins and good supporting minerality. The Clos Vougeot was to have been bottled soon after my visit but this wine will probably be the last to be finished. This fruit was picked on September 27 at 12. 9% potential alcohol and chaptalized to 13. 2%; the yield was 41 hectoliters per hectare. (ST)" (01/2016)
Starting Bid: $601.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée "Clos du Chateau" (90JG). John Gilman: "For having just been bottled in September, the 2011 Clos du Château was really showing beautifully in mid-November, with great style and grace in evidence on both the nose and palate. The bouquet is a very classy blend of plums, raspberries, coffee, underbrush, lovely soil tones and cedar. On the palate the wine is fullish, suave and very seductive, with a sappy core of fruit, sound acids and excellent length and grip on the modestly tannic finish. Like these first few wines in the Liger-Belair lineup, the 2011 Clos du Château will drink very well from the outset, but a few years in the cellar to allow its secondary layers to emerge strikes me as the proper course for this wine. 90+ " (11/2012)
Starting Bid: $450.00

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine du Comte Liger Belair Grand Cru " La Romanee" (95BH, 95RP, 95ST, 95VN, 94JG). Vinous: "The 2006 La Romanée Grand Cru is actually tasted on two separate occasions, once served blind in bottle in London and then from magnum in Beaune - both were consistent. It has a beguiling, quite sumptuous and sensual bouquet with red berries laced with orange peel and crushed violets. You could really lose yourself in these labyrinthine aromatics. The palate is rounded and exerts a gentle grip, a voluminous and multi-layered La Romanée with an edgy, discrete bitter note that keeps everything on an even keel. It is a beautiful La Romanée that is difficult to resist in its youth. Tasted at La Paulée in Beaune. (NM)" (05/2019)
Starting Bid: $3,420.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru (OWC - 95BH, 94VN) in original wood. Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An even more elegant nose of spicy and floral red and black pinot fruit is nuanced by subtle traces of sandalwood, Asian-style tea, soy and anise. There is fine concentration to the relatively powerful sappy and mouth coating flavors that are shaped by wonderfully fine-grained tannins on the hugely long, balanced and moderately austere finale. This terrific and notably powerful effort is also quite silky yet it should have zero difficulty rewarding at least 15 to 20 years of cellar time." (01/2017)
Starting Bid: $2,550.00

Bid on this bottle of 1994 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche Grand Cru . Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The still attractively vibrant, stony and complex middle weight flavors coat the mouth though the back end displays more than a trace of astringency and a healthy dose of austerity. In sum, this is perfectly good for the vintage." (04/2016)
Starting Bid: $2,200.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Beaux Monts" (91ST, 90BH, 90WE, 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Aromas of black plum and violet lifted by spices. Rich and seamless, with good lift and definition to the plum and floral flavors. Finishes with broad, palate-dusting tannins and lovely aromatic persistence. Very sexy already. I asked Grivot why he uses a good 20% more new oak than he did ten years ago. "Seduction," he responded succinctly, adding that he does not use "powerful" oak. (ST)" (03/2007)
Starting Bid: $170.00

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Domaine Leroy Vosne-Romanée (95BH, 91ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Another step up in aromatic complexity with classic Vosne spice notes as well as the Asian spice cabinet notes associated with a fine RSV that add nuance to the potent mix of red and black Pinot fruit aromas that merge into rich, mouth coating, concentrated and powerful flavors that put the attribute of class on parade. This is an exceptionally stylish wine with a richness and velvety quality that is incredibly seductive. Drink: 2014+ *Don't Miss! Outstanding!* " (04/2006)
Starting Bid: $1,400.00

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Reignots" (92JG, 92ST, 91BH). John Gilman: "The 2004 Reignots is more closed and primary than the Clos du Château, but shows equally fine purity and a distinct lack of the peppery qualities of many 2004s in this stage of development. The bouquet is deep and lovely, as it offers up a classic mix of black raspberries, black cherries, fresh thyme, woodsmoke, game, coffee, a great base of soil and a deft framing of spicy oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure, with lovely focus and balance, excellent mid-palate depth, and a long, moderately tannic finish that closes with a distinct note of thyme. Fine juice in the making. 92+" (04/2009)
Starting Bid: $545.00

Bid on this bottle of 1994 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg Grand Cru (91RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mature colour, with a wide mahogany rim. The bouquet is quite alluring, although there is a decayed, leafy quality about it. A touch of raspberry leaf, autumn leaves and a very slight hint of wild mint, although with time in glass it begins to coalesce and offer mulberry/briary scents. The palate is medium-bodied, quite earthy on the entry, rather conservative overall: this is a Pinot that does not desire too much attention. Once again there are notes of mulberry, a little pepper, nice persistency but resolutely linear and the finish is rather 'sulky.' But there is still something quite entrancing about it, despite its modest failings. Drink now-2018. Tasted February 2009. (NM)" (07/2009)
Starting Bid: $1,450.00

Bid on this bottle of 1994 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (Marey-Monge) Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru. Widely acknowledged to be the most important domaine in Burgundy, DRC, as it is commonly referred to, owns 25 hectares of vineyards—100 percent of which is grand cru. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti leased this vineyard from the Marey-Monge family in 1966, and produced this wine with the family name on it until the land was sold to DRC.
Starting Bid: $1,200.00

Bid on this bottle of 2000 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echèzeaux Grand Cru (93DC, 92JG, 92RP, 91BH). Decanter: "Quietly composed and classy. Lots of depth and very stylish fruit. Fullish body, rich, balanced and very ripe. Excellent grip. This really is an example of how the 2000s should have been made. Lovely. Drinking Window 2003-2020. (CC)" (02/2018)
Starting Bid: $1,400.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2013 Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Reignots" (94BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This has almost completely eaten its wood and the nose now easily allows the ultra-spicy, cool and exceptionally fresh, even perfumed aromas of green tea, red currant and cassis to shine. The lively and beautifully detailed mineral-driven flavors are quite refined thanks to the very fine-grained tannins that shape the lingering, moderately austere and gorgeously long finish. This is a stunningly good effort that should be approachable young if desired. Highly recommended. *Outstanding*" (01/2016)
Starting Bid: $775.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Domaine Robert Arnoux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots" (93BH, 93VN). Vinous: "(50% vendange entier; 100% new oak): Medium red. Tighter on the nose than the 2014 version, offering scents of raspberry, bitter chocolate and peppery spices; this will go truffley with bottle age. Then surprisingly sweet but pungent in the mid-palate, combining a wonderfully silky texture with terrific floral tension. Boasts high-pitched citrus peel, blood orange and spice notes that excite the taste buds. Finishes with very fine-grained tannins and terrific grip and length. Near-grand cru quality here. Drink 2021-2033. (ST)" (03/2016)
Starting Bid: $375.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine du Comte Liger Belair Vosne Romanée "La Colombière" (91VN, 90JG, 90WE). Vinous: "Typically savory, aromatic notes are delivered with superb precision and cut in the 2011 Vosne-Romanée La Colombière. Smoke, tobacco, plum, orange peel and anise are some of the many notes that inform the bright, high-toned finish. (AG)" (03/2014)
Starting Bid: $512.00

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne Romanée "Clos du Chateau" (91RP, 90JG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Very pale ruby / tawny colour. Earthy, meaty aromas emanate from the glass conjuring an image of truffle laced game with a raspberry sauce served on a bed of damp moss. A firm backbone of acid supports the soft, supple tannins and delicate red berry fruit. Long earthy finish. (LPB)" (05/2009)
Starting Bid: $385.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Aux Reignots" (95JG, (92-95ST), 94VN, 93BH, 93RP, 93WE). John Gilman: "The 2011 Liger-Belair Reignots is pure magic and a wine of grand cru dimension and beauty this year, as the more classic side of the growing season has really allowed this beautiful terroir to shine front and center in the way a more fruit-driven vintage such as 2009 could never accomplish. The brilliant nose soars from the glass in a haunting mélange of black raspberries, dark plums, a stunningly complex base of soil, Vosne spices, some very elegant, savory herb tones, duck and a stylish base of spicy new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and utterly pure and refined, with laser-like focus, fine-grained tannins and superb length and grip on the tangy and stunning finish. What a beautiful wine!" (11/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée "Clos du Chateau" (90VN). Vinous: "The 2008 Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée Clos du Château was in fine form. Intensely perfumed and aromatic, the mid-weight, gracious Clos du Château was a perfect Burgundy to enjoy on a warm summer evening. (AG)" (06/2013)
Starting Bid: $430.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots" ((92-95VN), 93BH). Vinous: "(100% vendange entier; 80% new oak; from a healthy crop of 42 hectoliters per hectare):Bright red-ruby. A touch of reduction mostly dissipated to reveal classic Suchots scents of black raspberry, Oriental spices, flowers and fresh herbs, plus an intriguing note of paprika. Wonderfully silky, plush, generous wine with sneaky inner-mouth energy. The wine's sweet oak component will need a few years to harmonize with its fruits and flowers. Finishes with terrific length and substantial ripe tannins. This should ultimately make a wonderfully complete Burgundy. (ST)" (01/2016)
Starting Bid: $611.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots" ((88-91BH), 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too displays a subtle touch of wood spice framing extravagantly spicy Vosne fruit of exceptional purity and real richness. The moderately full flavors are quite firmly structured and a bit dry though I suspect the gas contributes to this impression. This finishes with an elegant flourish and first rate length. " (01/2004)
