Bid on this bottle of 1969 Chappellet Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 100VN). Vinous: "The 1969 Chappellet Cabernet Sauvignon is poured and all conversation stops. I can smell the intoxicating bouquet right out of the bottle, but it is the wine’s color and overall intensity that are beyond belief. Graphite, lavender, smoke, herbs and host of intense dark fruits saturate the palate as this stunning Cabernet Sauvignon shows why it is regarded as one the greatest wines ever made in Napa Valley. At times, the textural richness and viscosity are reminiscent of legendary Médocs such as Latour, while the intense savory/smoky notes recall great vintages of La Mission Haut-Brion, but the essence is pure Napa Valley. I have had the 1969 a number of times and it has always been nothing short of remarkable, as it is once again on this night. I am too young to have tasted the 1969 when it was a young wine, but it must have really been something.
Starting Bid: $1,350.00

Bid on this magnum of 2007 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). Wine Spectator: "Benefits from the riper year, with more generous plum and wild berry fruit woven in with the tobacco, herb and sage. Ends with firm, chewy tannins, but also more fruit than the prior two vintages. (JL)" (10/2012)
Starting Bid: $110.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Maybach "Materium" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, (93-95ST), 95WS, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the red soils near Dalla Valle in the eastern part of the Oakville Corridor, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Materium is a killer wine. It possesses a striking, intense, rocky minerality, an opaque purple color, and deep, beautiful aromas of camphor, spring flowers, blueberries and black raspberry fruit. There is a cool climate character (even though this is not a cool climate viticultural area) as well as superb richness, a full-bodied mouthfeel, great delineation and a mindboggling finish that lasts nearly a full minute. This outrageous Cabernet Sauvignon can be drunk now and over the next 25 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1990 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95JG, 90RP, 90WS). John Gilman: "The 1990 vintage of Martha’s Vineyard is less ripe and powerful than the 1991 and is one of Kathleen Heitz Myers’ favorite vintages from the decade of the 1990s. One taste and it is very easy to understand why this is the case, as this is a beautifully elegant rendition of Martha’s Vineyard. The bouquet is deep, complex and stunning, as it soars from the glass in a blaze of red and black cherries, new leather, eucalyptus, cigar smoke, Rutherford dust and just a hint of cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very refined, with fine mid-palate depth, beautiful complexity, moderate tannins and superb length and grip on the dancing finish. While the 1990 Martha’s Vineyard is already drinking beautifully, I would be inclined to give it just a few more years of cellaring, to allow it to reach its zenith. It will drink well for many decades o

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Sine Qua Non "Dirt Vernacular" California Grenache (100JD, 98RP, 98VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "One of the finest Grenaches to ever pass my lips is the 2016 Grenache Dirt Vernacular and it’s 78% Grenache, 11.5% Mourvèdre, 7% Touriga Nacional, and the rest Petite Sirah. Reminding me of an old vine Grenache cuvée from the Maurel brothers in Châteauneuf du Pape, it boasts a huge nose of black raspberries, kirsch liqueur, graphite, ground herbs, and pepper. This is one of those wines that offers incredible intensity and depth, yet still just glides over the palate with no sense of heaviness whatsoever. Full-bodied, rich, layered, and pure, it’s a riveting example of Grenache that could come from nowhere else. Drink it any time over the coming 15+ years." (10/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Shafer "TD-9" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95WE, 94RP, (91-94VN), 93JD). Wine Enthusiast: "The winery’s proprietary blend of 58% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Malbec is hugely impressive and memorable, with a smoky, toasted oak character. Plush flavors of blackberry and cherry jam meld with spice on the rich, round midpalate. It offers plenty of grip and concentration, finishing on a handful of dried herb. (VB)" (05/2019)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (98JD, 98RP, 97WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The late-released 2007 Heart Stone, which spent 28 months in a combination of barrels, demi-muids, and pungeons, turned out to be a final blend of 65% Syrah, 21% Grenache, and 14% Mourvedre. Like all of Justin Smith’s 2007s, it is a riveting, sensational wine that carries its heavy weight, profound richness, and intensity very gracefully. That is no doubt an effect of the limestone soils of this region. Blackberry and smoked meats as well as some garrigue and floral notes are followed by a dense, rich, pure, multi-layered wine that just screams for grilled poultry or meats! Bottled unfined and unfiltered...this is a fabulous wine that combines power and elegance. It should drink well for at least a decade or more. (RP)" (08/2010)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Far Niente Napa Valley Chardonnay. Wine Spectator: "Chablis-like in its flinty leaness, with firm citrus, earth, mineral, gravel and green apple flavors. Intense and vibrant, for those who don't want the shadow of oak in their Chardonnay. (JL)" (09/2003)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Outpost "True Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 99JD, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from the nine-acre True Vineyard up on Howell Mountain and produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep purple-black colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon True Vineyard strides confidently out of the glass with incredible poise and pedigree: warm cassis, blackcurrant cordial, baker’s chocolate, licorice and truffles commingled with hints of underbrush, violets, woodsmoke and stewed plums plus a waft of fragrant earth. Full-bodied, concentrated and built like a brick house, it has wonderfully firm, ripe, grainy tannins with a fantastic line of seamless freshness and a powerful, multilayered expression of place coming through on the epically long finish. A decadent beauty right now, this is going to be even more mind-blowing in 15 to 20+ years, and it should go on for 40 or more. (LPB)" (07/2019)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Kistler "Cuvée Natalie-Silver Belt" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97JD, 95RP, 94VN, 92WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Pinot Noir Cuvée Natalie is a mix of Calera and Swan clones as well as cool, more iron oxide-driven soils. It offers more red fruits with sensational notes of strawberries, spice, and wet stone literally soaring from the glass. Perfectly balanced, with ultra-fine tannin and a seamless texture, drink this complex, layered, multi-dimensional Russian River Valley Pinot Noir anytime over the coming 10-15 years." (06/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 O'Shaughnessy Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dark red cherries, iron, crushed rocks, flowers and mint are all layered into the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder. Layers of bright underlying minerality and acidity give the 2010 much of its energy and sheer thrust. This is another exceptional wine, but readers will have to be patient. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2030. (AG) 97+" (12/2012)
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this bottle of 2015 The Vineyardist Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (99JD, 97RP, 97VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Just about perfection in a glass, the monumental 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon from this Diamond Mountain estate has everything you could want from a mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. It sports a deep purple color as a powerful bouquet of blackberries, plums, incense, scorched earth, damp herbs, and a hint of mint. Incredibly full-bodied and deep, with a profound texture, layers of silky tannins, no hard edges, and a finish that won’t quit, this magical wine will most likely merit a triple-digit score in 4-5 years and keep for more than three decades." (01/2019)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Les Pavots, a 3,440-case blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot, comes from Knights Valley. It exhibits a distinctive truffle, chocolate, blackberry and cassis-scented bouquet, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and fabulous concentration, purity and density. This magnificent effort’s open-knit style was surprising as most Northern California 2009s made from Bordeaux varietals are somewhat austere and closed at present. This wine should drink well for another two decades or more. (RP)" (12/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Aubert "Larry Hyde and Sons Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay ((96-97JS), 97RP, 96WS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Chardonnay Larry Hyde & Sons explodes from the glass with bombastic lime cordial, pink grapefruit and rhubarb pie scents with suggestions of fresh ginger, green mango and acacia honey plus a touch of praline. Full-bodied, the palate has a wonderfully savory undercurrent with brioche nuances complementing the powerful tropical fruit, framed by great freshness, finishing with epic length. (LPB)" (10/2019)

Bid on this magnum of 2007 Hess Collection "Brother Timothy Mont La Salle" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). A pioneer by nature, Donald Hess was determined to defy convention and pursue winemaking at elevation, so in 1978, he established The Hess Collection Winery on the site of one of the region’s oldest wineries. He took the opportunity to marry his two creative passions in life—wine and art—and he established an art gallery within the winery as a means of sharing his private art collection. Donald Hess and his wife, Ursula, met through their shared love of art, and today, Ursula’s daughter, Sabrina, and her husband, Tim, continue the family legacy of sharing wine and art and the family’s ongoing commitment to making both accessible to all. About the "Brother Timothy" wine: "Wines scarcely introduced to the greater public, "Brother Timothy" wines encapsulate the spirit of Napa icons which is to make great wine, and to make it for a greater good. In every sip is the perfection
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Bevan "Wildfoote Vixen Block" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96JD, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Vixen Block Wildfoote Vineyard offers up a very serious nose of cassis, blackberry pie and blueberry compote with hints of dried lavender, underbrush, Chinese five spice and cigar box, plus a waft of dark chocolate. Full-bodied and densely packed with black fruit preserves and earthy layers, it has a firm frame of finely grained tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with epically long exotic spice nuances. (LPB)" (12/2017)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1991 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94JG, 93WS). John Gilman: "The 1991 vintage has long been touted as one of the great recent vintages for Cabernet Sauvignon, and this is certainly evident in the '91 Martha's Vineyard. The nose is deep, ripe and absolutely classic in its aromatic mélange of red and black cherries, mint, tobacco, a touch of chocolate, lovely soil tones and a deft framing of new oak. On the palate the wines is deep, full-bodied, pure and quite powerful in style, with a great core of pure fruit, a lovely signature of soil, ripe tannins and impeccable balance on the very, very long and tangy finish. Superb juice, and decidedly more impressive than many of the highly-touted 1991 Cabernets that I reported on several issues ago in the newsletter. This is still a very young wine and will need a good decade more cellaring to really reach its apogee. 2021-2075." (06/2011)
Starting Bid: $360.00

Bid on this bottle of 2017 Sea Smoke "Ten" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir. Winemaker notes: "Hand-harvested, clusters were sorted in the vineyard and then gently destemmed following an evening in our cold room. All ‘jack stems’ were removed on the sorting table. Musts were cold soaked in open-top fermenters for five days, and then inoculated with cultured yeasts to begin slow fermentation. Each tank was manually punched down two times per day, with a total maceration time of sixteen to twenty-eight days. Upon completion of primary fermentation and maceration, all free run wine was transferred to tank for settling, and then pressed at extremely low pressure (0.08 bars) to avoid extracting bitterness. After settling overnight both free-run and press wines were racked to barrels. Ten was bottled with no fining and no filtration."
Starting Bid: $70.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1991 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN, 93RP, 91WS). Vinous: "Bright, deep red-ruby. Wonderfully mellow and complex on the nose, offering everything from fresh dark fruits to chocolate, red licorice, flowers and graphite minerality. Pure liquid silk in the mouth; at once sharply delineated and edge-free thanks to superb harmonious acidity, possessing a wonderfully tight core of juicy fruit. This very dry, classic Howell Mountain Cabernet finishes with serious dusty but sweet tannins and will still improve. Stunning wine. (ST)" (08/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Peter Michael "Ma Danseuse" Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir (100RP, 94JS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The compelling 2012 Pinot Noir Ma Danseuse (1,480 cases) is even better than the 2013. Notes of lead pencil shavings, DRC-like forest floor, black raspberry, blackcurrant, Asian plum sauce, rose petal and sweet cherry characteristics are found in this spectacular, multidimensional, prodigious Pinot Noir that should drink well for 10-15+ years. The clonal material probably came from one of the DRC vineyards, so it is not surprising that. in this cool climate, with the great fruit purity California can achieve, there is a DRC-like resemblance. (RP)" (12/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 TOR Kenward "East Meets West" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another tiny cuvée, but certainly a magnificent one, is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon East Meets West, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from the To Kalon and Terra Roja vineyards. With great mouthfeel, fabulous intensity, plenty of fruitcake, cassis, licorice, incense and Asian spice, the wine is opulent and fleshy with low acidity and enormous fruit and length. I was trying to see if this would last a minute on the palate and it almost did. Drink it over the next 20 years. (RP)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $205.01

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1992 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94VN). Vinous: "We have better luck with the 1992 Heitz Cabernet Sauvignon Martha’s Vineyard, which is stellar. The flavors are warm, soft and resonant in a supple, super-expressive Cabernet that is peaking yet shows no signs of fading. Sweet floral, mint and spice notes flesh out in the glass, but the 1992 is first and foremost a wine of texture. The pliant, sexy finish makes the 1992 absolutely irresistible. (AG)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $370.00

Bid on this magnum of 2002 Delectus "Dog-Gone Good" Napa Valley Red (1.5L). Wine Spectator: "Offers up complexity and intensity to the black currant, mineral and dried herb flavors. Firm structure and a wash of cedary oak accent solid greenish tannins on the finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petite Sirah. (JL)" (06/2005)
Starting Bid: $59.00

Bid on this bottle of 1997 Peter Michael "Les Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 92ST, 92W&S, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Les Pavots originates from a hillside vineyard overlooking the Knight's Valley that has 23 acres planted with Bordeaux varietals. The 1997 blend consists of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and 9% Cabernet Franc. The wine was aged in French oak (50% new), and bottled without filtration. Fortunately, there are 4,351 cases of 750 ml bottles, as well as 330 cases of magnums. A blue/black/purple color is followed by an extraordinary bouquet of toast, blackberries, creme de cassis, licorice, and cedar. Full-bodied, with silky tannin, low acidity, and layers of concentrated, pure black fruits judiciously wrapped in subtle toasty oak, this wine can be drunk early, but promises to hit its peak in 5-7 years, and last for two or more decades. (RP)" (12/2000)
Starting Bid: $135.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Williams Selyem Sonoma Pinot Noir Vertical Horizontal, including 1-bottle of 2016 Williams Selyem "Allen Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (94CG, 94JD, 94RP, 94WE, 93VN) and 1-bottle of 2016 Williams Selyem "Burt Williams' Morning Dew Ranch" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (95CG, 95W&S, 94VN, 93WE, 92RP). Of the 2016 Williams Selyem "Burt Williams' Morning Dew Ranch" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir,Wine & Spirits writes: "When Burt Williams sold his interest in Williams Selyem to John and Kathe Dyson in 1998, he purchased this 40-acre ranch in Philo, where he planted 13 acres of pinot noir. The hillside planting, at an elevation of 600 feet, faces north and northeast, a cool exposition for grapes further cooled by proximity to the coast. Jeff Mangahas, who now tends to winemaking at Williams Selyem, used those grapes to produce a delicate pinot noir, fragrant with scents of cherry blossoms, its darker tones of spring mushrooms, moss and conifer forests wa

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - (97-98JS), 98VN, 97WE, 96WS, 95CG, 94RP, 93ST) in original wood. Vinous: "Shafer's 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is all high notes. Sweet red plum and cherry notes meld into mint, spice and new leather, all supported by silky, polished tannins that add finesse to the plush fruit. Rich, opulent and beautifully textured throughout, the 2009 is going to provide fabulous, viscerally thrilling drinking pretty much right out of the gate. This is a great Hillside Select. Frankly, I can't imagine anyone who enjoys Hillside Select not wanting the 2009 in their cellar. The persistent, resonant finish is pure sensuality. (AG)" (11/2013)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Philip Togni "Estate" Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 96WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has a very classic nose of cassis, warm plums and crushed blackberries with notions of cigar box, garrigue, damp soil and truffles plus wafts of menthol and underbrush. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a firm frame of grainy tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long and minerally. Drink through 2045. (LPB)" (06/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Quintessa Rutherford Bordeaux Blend (97JS, 94RP, 93DC, 92WS). James Suckling: "Aromas of spearmint, sweet tobacco, cigars and blackcurrants follow through to a medium to full body, very polished and refined tannins and an intense finish. Extremely fine and long. Savory. Extremely long finish. Biodynamically grown." (01/2017)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014-2015 Rhys "Bearwallow Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Vertical, including 2-bottles of 2014 Rhys "Bearwallow Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (94RP, 93JG, 92VN, 90BH) and 2-bottles of 2015 Rhys "Bearwallow Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (94VN, 92JG, 92RP). Of the 2014 Rhys "Bearwallow Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard is a solid step up over the Anderson Valley release and has more tension, elegance and precision. Offering up classic notes of strawberries, spice, black cherries and a touch of sous bois, it has medium to full-bodied richness, terrific purity of fruit and integrated acidity. Give bottles a year or two and drink through 2026. While the majority of 2014s are charming and supple, that’s certainly not the case with these latest releases from Kevin Harvey. I found all of his 2014s to be concentrated, structured wines that defy the vintage stereotyp

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Kosta Browne "Giusti Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (95RP, 94VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the Russian River Valley and the newest single vineyard from this team (the first vintage was 2012), the 2013 Pinot Noir Giusti Vineyard is another big, rich, full-flavored Pinot Noir that gives up slightly lifted notes of dark fruits, graphite and peppery spice. Almost completely destemmed and aged 16 months in 40% new French oak, it’s a sensational Pinot Noir with terrific purity in its concentrated, layered and textured personality. It's superb today, but will cruise through at least 2023. (JD)" (10/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Pride Mountain Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Multi-Format Lot, including 1-750ml-bottle and 1-magnum of 2002 Pride Mountain Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94CG, 91RP, 90ST, 90W&S). Connoisseurs Guide writes: "Intensely aromatic and redolent of raspberries, cassis, cocoa and touches of loam, this very rich and powerful young wine follows through with wonderfully concentrated flavors that are every bit as big and fully filled as expected. Although its sheer sense of mass and immediacy will hold it in reasonable stead as a near-term partner to meats on the bone, it has the strength and the structure to grow even better with time and deserves a wait of at least five years if not ten. *Two Stars*" (12/2004)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon - RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JD, 98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, blocks B1, B2 and E2 planted to clone 337, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon RBS has a very deep purple-black color and is a little reticent to begin, offering glimpses at crushed black berries, black cherries and black currants with touches of cedar chest, pencil lead, dark chocolate and dusty earth with a waft of cinnamon stick. Medium to full-bodied and tautly structured with rock-solid, firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness supporting the muscular fruit, it finishes on a lingering earthy note. Forget this one over the next 4-5 years, and drink it over the next 25+. 1,096 cases produced. (LPB) 98+" (12/2017)
Starting Bid: $360.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 93CG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "1994 produced 4,863 cases from a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc. This is one of the great vintages of the 90s, and Spottswoode hit the bull’s-eye with this opaque, ruby/purple-colored wine that still has incredible youthfulness and vibrancy. Fabulous fruit intensity, blackcurrants, black cherries and blackberry, along with charcoal, chocolate and graphite, are all present in this superb, full-bodied, stunningly multidimensional wine that is only now approaching mid-adolescence at age 22. This wine has at least 25-30 more years of life left in it. It is a great one. (RP)" (08/2016)

Bid on this bottle of 2013 The Vineyardist Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 97VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is flirting with perfection already. It is 100% estate Cabernet Sauvignon from clones 7, 33 and 337, and the harvest took place in late October. The wine was aged in 100% new French oak, of which three-fourths were Darnajou barrels and 25% Taransaud. Unfortunately, only 240 cases were produced. The wine is an absolutely spectacular Diamond Mountain Cabernet. Dense purple, with notes of charcoal, burning embers, licorice, blackberry and cassis, the wine hits the palate with a cascade of gorgeously pure fruit, a full-bodied opulence, but sweet tannin appears in the finish, giving the wine grip and delineation. (RP)" (10/2015)
Starting Bid: $175.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 96JD, 95WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Starting off the more southern Rhone-inspired blends, the 2005 James Berry Vineyard is a brilliant effort that’s drinking perfectly. Made from 70% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre and 10% Grenache, it gives up incredible aromas of sweet blackcurrants, blackberry liqueur, spiced meats, licorice and roasted meats that are just now starting to show hints of evolution. Sweetly fruited and with full-bodied richness, this beauty is hard to resist and has fabulous concentration, sweet tannin and a seamless finish. It will have another decade of longevity, yet there is no harm in drinking it now. Drink through 2024. (JD)" (06/2014)

Bid on this 3-magnum lot of 2006 Merry Edwards "Olivet Lane" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (92CG, 90W&S). Connoisseurs Guide: "Not unlike the Marimar wines, but more fully concentrated, this wine has always contained quite ample acidity and asked for bottle aging. Its fairly precise varietal aroma of red cherries with hints of sweet spices and a dollop of crème brûlée and slightly toasty oak puts it out ahead of the crowd, and its full and impeccably balanced palatal impressions only add to its luster. It will benefit from bottle age but does not demand overly long patience." (02/2009)
Starting Bid: $285.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1987 & 1990 Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 1987 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 90VN) and 4-bottles of 1990 Robert Mondavi "Unfiltered" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90WS). Of the 1987 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "This extraordinary wine is backward and unevolved, but even neophytes will recognize its potential greatness. The opaque, saturated, dark purple color reveals no sign of age. The huge, smoky, oaky, blackcurrant, herb, and vanillin-scented nose only hints at what will be achieved with further evolution. Sweet, decadently rich, dense, highly extracted flavors are wrapped around a full-bodied, chewy, super-concentrated, moderately tannic wine that, ideally, needs 7-8 more years of cellaring. It is a 25 to 30 year California Cabernet Sauvignon that is just beginning to become civilized. A potential legend

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 & 2015 Legacy Alexander Valley Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2013 Legacy Alexander Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP) and 1-bottle of 2015 Legacy Alexander Valley Chardonnay (95VN). Of the 2013 Legacy Alexander Valley Bordeaux Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2015 Proprietary Red Wine is a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple colored, it reveals vibrant cassis, plum preserves, blackberry pie and chocolate-covered black cherries with touches of licorice, tilled soil and cigar box. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it has a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing very long with a compelling perfume coming through. 513 cases produced. Drink 2021-2049. (LPB)" (10/2018)
Starting Bid: $80.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Kosta Browne "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (95RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the top examples I was able to taste from this terrific vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands, the 2014 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is a big, rich, concentrated effort that gives up full-bodied notes of savory herbs, scrub brush, black currants and the classic savory, earthy and mineral characteristics that this site is known for. Fermented with 25% whole clusters, it has lots of texture, lots of tannin, and lots of length. It's a smokin' wine to drink anytime over the coming 10-12 years. (JD)" (09/2016)
Starting Bid: $225.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1995 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 92VN, 92WS, 90CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, and the last wine made by Pam Starr at Rombauer Vineyards, the 1995 offers worthy competition to the magnificent 1994, which was more highly heralded. A touch of spring flowers, intermixed with crème de cassis, licorice, lead-pencil shavings and cedar, are all present in this wine of great intensity and full-bodied power, but with an elegance and finesse that, again, similarly suggests a Château Margaux made in St. Helena. This beautiful wine should continue to drink well for another 25 years. (RP)" (08/2016)

Bid on this 3L-bottle of 2013 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (3L) (OWC - 95DC, 95JG, 94RP, 94VN, 92BH) in original wood. Decanter: "It was Jeremy Seysses of Burgundy’s Domaine Dujac who alerted me to the amazing things that Kevin Harvey and his team at Rhys are doing, and that seems appropriate as the wines certainly seem to nod to Dujac’s style. The 2013 Alpine Vineyard Pinot Noir is one of the most compelling young wines I’ve tasted from Rhys. Its youthful and savoury bouquet of crisp red and black cherry, fresh herbs, cinnamon and rich forest floor is followed on the palate by a wine of impressive vibrancy and depth. Rhys wines are built for the cellar, and the handful of older bottles I’ve encountered suggests that patience really is rewarded. (WK)"

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Kistler "Hyde Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay (97CG, 95RP, 95WE, 93VN). Connoisseurs Guide: "The concept of terroir, that unique contribution of a given site, has become a much-discussed vinous topic these days, sometimes frivolously so, but it is the specific expression of terroir that very much informs each of Kistler's Chardonnays insofar as all are, in fact, subject to the same winemaking regimen and the differences among them are those born of where they were grown. This deeply draughted effort from the Hyde Vineyard gets our vote as being the best of an altogether extraordinary bunch in 2015 by dint of its intensity, its impeccable balance and its sheer fruity strength. It is a wine of remarkable richness and range that, while complete and compelling now, will only grow more complex over time, and we feel safe in predicting that those willing to hide a few bottles away until it reaches its tenth anniversary are sure to be pleased that they did. *Thr

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Aubert Chardonnay Horizontal, including 1-bottle of 2015 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (100RP, 97VN, 94JS, 92WS) and 1-bottle of 2015 Aubert "Sugar Shack" Napa Valley Chardonnay (97JS, 97RP, 93VN). Of the 2015 Aubert "Lauren Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A touch closed and youthfully shy to begin, the 2015 Chardonnay Lauren Estate soon powers up to reveal intense grapefruit, citrus peel, yuzu and honeyed pear notes over suggestions of crushed stones, struck match, baking bread and lemongrass. The palate is fine, fresh, elegant and incredibly layered, with the tightly wound layers offering glimpses at incredible depth, finishing long and minerally. Consider holding on to this one for another couple of years and drinking it over the next 12+. (LPB)" (10/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Promontory Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 94VN, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Promontory is a magnificent Bordeaux-styled red offering up notes of burning embers, scorched earth (not terribly dissimilar from a top Pessac-Leognan such as La Mission Haut-Brion), black fruits, loamy undertones of minerality, and hints of camphor and background oak. Dense, masculine, rich and full, this 2009 is built for the long-term, although for a 2009, the tannins are remarkably well-integrated, giving the wine definition and structure. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Peter Michael "L'Esprit des Pavots" Knights Valley Bordeaux Blend.
Starting Bid: $190.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1996 Jarvis Napa Valley Merlot . Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red to the rim. Briary, minty, blackcurrant nose. Juicy, spicy and intensely flavored, with rather strong acidity leading to a slightly tart finish. Plenty of material here: will it become more pliant with bottle aging? (ST)" (11/1998)
Starting Bid: $30.50

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Kosta Browne "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (94RP, 93VN, 91CG, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of my favorites in the lineup, the 2012 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard shows its 15% whole cluster fermentation with the darker fruit, ground pepper, herbs and background meatiness that shows on the nose. A rich, full-flavored, yet still seamless and elegant Pinot Noir, it has solid underlying structure and beautiful focus that comes through on the finish. It can be consumed anytime over the coming 5-7 years. This was another stacked lineup by the team of Dan Kosta and Michael Browne. All of these wines showed the more approachable style of the 2012 vintage, and had seamless, elegant characters. They're beautiful now, but I suspect they will evolve nicely given their overall balance. (JD)" (10/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 1997 Etude Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 96W&S, (92-93ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon...ranks alongside the finest Tony Soter has produced. Don't miss it! Opaque purple-colored, with a gorgeously seamless personality, this unfined/unfiltered wine exhibits classic aromas of cassis, licorice, chocolate, and toast. Rich and full-bodied, with sweet tannin, a multilayered mid-palate, and a terrific finish, it possesses accessibility and opulence...(RP)" (06/2000)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96DC, 95JD, 95RP, 95VN). Decanter: "A long, cool growing season, with harvest from the end of September to the end of October, delivered fantastic flavour development. More Bordeaux-like than most in the tasting, it was highly aromatic, with a lush cassis, violet and graphite nose, and intense flavours of dark plum cherry fruit, cocoa, and notes of espresso. It’s expressive right now, yet the powerful tannins say it’s got years to go. One for collectors. Drinking Window 2018 - 2035 (EM)" (06/2018)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2013 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot (96RP, 93VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolute epic wine is the 2013 Merlot, a blend of 95% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot. It is no wimpy wine either, with the natural alcohol slightly north of 15%. A gorgeous nose including roasted espresso, melted black chocolate, blackberry, plum and cassis offers an exceptional set of aromatics. The wine has beautiful ripeness, headiness and a long finish of close to 45+ seconds. This is a beauty of terrific purity, texture and personality. Few California Merlots will ever be capable of equaling this. Drink it over the next 25-30+ years. Pahlmeyer certainly has one of the most consistently superb resumés for the last 30 years that any winery could desire. (RP)" (12/2016)
