In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is an interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth-filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth. 7.0%ABV / 1.068 O.G / 25 BUs

From the brewery: "Technically, this is neither an ale nor a lager. The base recipe is for a Golden Ale, but we do the primary fermentation with 100% brettanomyces. The brett gives it some sour notes but not as much as if it had been aged with lacto and pedio. It’s rather refreshing on a warm day!"

The medium-bodied mouthfeel boasts bright, fizzy carbonation and refreshing acidity, making the palate seem light and approachable. It finishes dry and spicy, with flavo...

"Aged in French oak wine barrels for twelve months with distinct characteristics of fruit and subtle oak" sounds more like a description of wine than beer. However, Temptation is indeed beer. Temptation is a Blonde Ale aged in French oak chardonnay barrels with Brettanomyces. Flavors of wine and oak absorb into the brew throughout its aging. Temptation is re-fermented in the bottle to create its carbonation--a process commonly used to make fine champagne and sparkling wine. Spent yeast forms a thin layer of sediment to remain in the bottle. 7.25%ABV / 1....

Originally cultivated in Northern California the plums derive their name from the fruit’s abnormally large size and deep red hue. Beyond the aesthetics, Elephant Heart Plums are loaded with rich juicy flavor, fragrant floral aromas, and just a touch of acidity making them an ideal candidate to be showcased in our sour beer. We purchased 4000 pounds of these plums from Blossom Bluff Orchards in Parlier, CA and carefully processed the fruit by hand. We reserved both the flesh and th...

97 points Wine Enthusiast: " *Best Buy* An authentic Trappist product, brewed at one of only seven Trappist breweries in the world, this is Rochefort’s boldest and strongest offering.
