100 points James Suckling: "This is finally coming around with such fine tannins and beautiful fruit after all these years. Full and balanced. Historical. And so long. Stunning. Fresh and bright." (10/2019) 100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1986 Mouton-Rothschild is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot that was picked from 2 October until 16 October. Winemaker Philippe Dhalluin, who was not working at the property back then, told me that the pH was fairly low at 3.54 when it is usually around...

94 points Wine Spectator: "Bordeaux-like in structure, this is an impressive showing. Firm tannins wrap around the currant, black cherry, anise, spice and cedar notes. Long, persistent finish." (02/2000) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep brick colour. Appealingly evolved nose of leather, game, tobacco, espresso, stewed prunes, bacon and tea. The palate still provides a good amount of elegant fruit that builds in the mouth. Light to medium level of silky tannins remain with medium to high acidity to provide freshness. Long finish. Fully mat...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the 1982 dinner at The Square. The ’86 continues to cruise at high altitude, an effortless Yquem that if anything is improving at nigh 25-years of age. It has a glorious, pure, honeyed bouquet with patisserie notes, almond flakes and coconut. The palate is supremely well balanced with great weight and poise, the acidity dialled to perfect. It does not quite have the profundity on the finish to consider it on par with say, the 1989 or 2001. But it is drinking perfectly now and will continue to cruise for...

Bid on this bottle of 1986 Talbot, St-Julien (96RP, 94VN, 93DC, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A fabulous wine, and one of the two greatest Talbots of the last 50 years, this wine still has a very murky garnet/plum/purple color and a spectacular nose of sweet creme de cassis intermixed with freshly ground pepper, melted road tar, herbes de Provence, and beef blood. It is followed by an enormously concentrated wine of full body, layers of concentration and sweet tannin. The wine seems to be just hitting its plateau of maturity, where it should last for at least 10-15 more years. A prodigious Talbot. (RP)" (01/2003)
Starting Bid: $115.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Joseph Phelps "Eisele Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a marvelous mature Cabernet Sauvignon from Phelps. A sublime nose of blackberry, cedar , mulberry and a touch of eucalyptus. The palate is medium-bodied and displays exquisite balance and refinement, very harmonious and unassuming with Medocian characteristics: ceder, leather and a touch of sous bois. Good length. (NM)" (09/2008)
Starting Bid: $311.00

Bid on this bottle of 1986 Domaine Ramonet Montrachet Grand Cru (97JG, 97RP, 97VN). Vinous: "Two 1986 Montrachets provided fascinating contrasts. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti impressed for its intensity and depth, but I gave an edge to the Ramonet for its sheer energy, minerality and vibrancy, all of which elevate it to the pantheon of immortal, heroic wines. (AG)" (03/2010)
Starting Bid: $2,699.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Margaux, Margaux (98RP, 98VN, 95WS). Vinous: "The 1986 Château Margaux was even more emotionally moving. Still incredibly youthful, it showed incredible focus and depth, all backed up by considerable structure. As hard as it may seem to believe, on this night the 1986 appeared to still be some years away from peaking. It was striking in every way. (AG) 98+" (02/2012)
Starting Bid: $1,552.00

Bid on this bottle of 1986 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1986 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard is remarkable. It possesses an opaque purple/black color with no lightening or amber at the edge. A huge, exotic nose of sweet, toasty oak, smoked herbs, grilled meats, and black fruits soars from the glass. This lusty, powerful, classically-structured Cabernet reveals superb richness, full body, and a long, sweet, rich finish with no signs of fruit oxidation or deterioration. This wine will benefit from another 2-3 years of cellaring, and will keep for 15-20 years - amazing! (RP)" (08/1996)
