2018 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes
New!
97-99 points Vinous: "The 2018 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru is even darker than the Bonnes-Mares. It has a spectacular bouquet of intense black fruit, blueberries and shucked oyster shells, the mineralité heightened over the Bonnes-Mares and lending a great deal of precision. The palate is medium-bodied with blueberry, boysenberry and black currant fruit, extraordinary tension, razor-sharp acidity and a dash of white pepper on the crystalline finish. One of the finest Musignys I have tasted from barrel at de Vogüé. (NM)" (01/2020) 94-97 points All...

Maison Nicolas Potel is a Burgundy négociant business founded in 1997. While the house owns no vineyards, Potel makes Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines from some of the most highly regarded sites in the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. Potel has access to multiple grand cru and premier cru vineyards, notably producing Corton, Charmes-Chambertin and Echézeaux Grand Cru wines, among others. Wines are also produced at the village level from regions all over Burgundy, including Chablis and the Maconnais, as well as Beaujolais to the south.

2018 Domaine Comte de Vogue Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses"
New!
95-97 points Vinous: "The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a bewitching bouquet of ample black cherry, blueberry and violet aromas, a quintessential Amoureuses defined by its purity and controlled opulence. The palate is, again, extremely pure and caressing, offering sorbet-like freshness and palpable energy, and delivering a crescendo of flavor as it fans out on the finish with blueberry, cassis, crushed stone and blood orange notes. Fabulous. (NM)" (01/2020) 92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A highly expressive and ultra-elega...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes represents the height of elegance. Here we find the femininity of Chambolle, but with an extra dimension of power and muscle to match. Crushed flowers and sweet spices add the final nuances on the subtle finish. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2034. This is a stunning set of wines from Patrick Landager. The vintage yielded a set of super-sized, big wines that may shock some readers for their sheer intensity. These are among some of the most backward 2009s I tasted and will...

95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the reserved nose is ripe yet cool with its layered combination of both red and dark berry fruit aromas that are also quite spicy. There is a bit less density to the middle weight flavors that compensate by being sleeker and more well-delineated on the beautifully textured, dusty, powerful and very serious finale. This is unapologetically built-to-age and a wine that’s going to need at least a decade first. " (04/2020) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another of the highlights of the range is the 2018...

2018 Domaine Comte de Vogue Chambolle-Musigny
New!
89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A moderately jammy nose speaks of cassis, red and dark cherry and lovely spice wisps. The sleek but succulent medium-bodied flavors retain a lovely sense of underlying tension to the saline-inflected finish that exhibits excellent length. I really like the mouthfeel and this should be lovely in time." (01/2020) 90-92 points Vinous: "The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village has a lovely black cherry and boysenberry scented, quite floral in style, with hints of wet limestone in the background. The palate is fresh on the...

2018 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru
New!
96-98 points Vinous: "The 2018 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is a limpid deep purple. It has a heavenly bouquet distantly related to the Les Amoureuses, offering precocious but detailed blueberry, black cherry, crushed iris petal and crushed limestone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with an edgy, marine-influenced opening, a tang of shucked oyster shells infusing the black and blueberry fruit, leading to a detailed, tensile, lightly spiced finish. A long tail of white pepper lingers on the aftertaste. This is absolutely divine. (NM)" (01/2020) 92-94 point...

89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Wafting from the glass with notes of cherries, raspberries, rose petals and orange rind, the 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with refined tannins, lively acids and a perfumed finish. (WK)" (01/2020) Vinous: "The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is a blend of 11 parcels and aged in 20% new oak. It offers pretty blueberry and raspberry aromas on the nose, which is quite understated in the context of the vintage. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry with supple ...

2018 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Blanc
New!
95-97 points Vinous: "The 2018 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Blanc Grand Cru, which is aged in 20% new oak, is lucid silver in color. Its gorgeous bouquet features scents of lemon thyme, mirabelle, orange zest and touches of crushed stone, conveying energy and tension. A menthol note emerges with time in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with peach, lemon curd, almond and praline notes. Not exotic but sensual and beautifully defined. (NM)" (01/2020) 91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A subtle but not imperceptible trace of wood sets off inten...

2017 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny Grand Cru (Previously $850) (Previously $850)
Top Pick!
96 points Decanter: "The older vines in de Vogüé's extensive 7.2ha in Musigny date back to 1953 and make a wine that's considerably weightier than the young-vine cuvée. This is very deep and intense in colour, exhibiting layers of dark bramble and black cherry flavours and a backbone of precise, chalky, mouthwatering acidity. A wine that needs time to digest its 35% new wood. (TA)" (10/2018) 94-96 points Vinous: "The 2017 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru has a very expressive, complex bouquet, the mélange of red, blue and black fruit making it difficu...

97 points John Gilman: "The 2010 Drouhin Amoureuses is a stunningly beautiful wine. The deep, pure and magical nose offers up a blend of cherries, blood orange, mustard seed, woodsmoke, great minerality, espresso, roses and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure and tangy, with stunning transparency, a sappy core of red fruit, ripe, seamless tannins and outstanding length and grip on the tangy and brilliant finish. (Drink between 2020-2070) 97+" (11/2011) 93-96 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This also displays soft wood bu...

89-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is pleasingly perfumed with its airy aromas of red cherry, currant and discreet spice wisps. There is excellent intensity to the mineral-suffused and delineated medium weight flavors that display fine focus on the linear, youthfully austere and dusty finish. As it often is in its youth, the mouthfeel seems a bit skinny but this wine has a proven track record of fleshing out with time in bottle. Recommended provided it's cellared." (01/2020) 88-90 points Vinous: "The 2018 Chambolles-Musigny Les Veroilles...

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Soaring from the glass with scents of raspberries, plums and cherries, mingled with inviting nuances of peonies and dark chocolate, Lachaux's 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with lively acids and exquisitely refined tannins that frame a deep and sapid core of fruit. As I wrote last year, the thoughtful, intelligent and increasingly self-assured Charles Lachaux seems to gain in authority each time I taste with him, and my most recent visit prompted the same reflect...

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A super-fresh and bright nose features notes of airy red berry fruit that is laced with subtle earth and forest floor nuances. The mid-palate texture is more elegant than is typical for the genre and while there is a trace of backend rusticity, overall I would describe this as a relatively refined Bourgogne. Worth checking out." (04/2020) Decanter: "This special selection of Pinot Noir, a blend of seven parcels, makes wonderfully elegant wine despite its modest appellation. It's not deeply coloured and has delicate cranberry...

93 points John Gilman: "As one would expect, the 2015 les Baudes has a bit more black fruit to it this year than the Chabiots, but this wine too is all in finesse and purity. The bouquet is very transparent and pure, offering up scents of red and black cherries, cocoa, violets, a lovely base of soil, gamebird and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very sappy at the core, with lovely soil signature, suave, seamless tannins and a very long, vibrant and beautifully balanced finish. Another stellar Chambolle!" (01/2017) 91-93 poi...

96 points Decanter: "The Drouhins’ holdings cover 0.5ha of this grand cru on both red and white soils. It's another very impressive wine from a domaine that's right at the top of its game under the new generation. Made with 25% whole bunches and 80% new wood, it's a very complete expression of the grand cru with plenty of intensity and coiled power, some good underlying grip and a sappy, spicy, vanilla finish. Drinking Window 2026 - 2037. (TA)" (10/2018) 94-96 points Vinous: "The 2017 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has a very expressive bouquet with violet-tin...

93 points John Gilman: "François Bertheau’s example of les Charmes is one of the finest in the village in my experience, as this quite large premier cru can vary a bit in terms of absolute quality depending on where one’s vines are located in the vineyard. The 2016 from Domaine Bertheau is an outstanding wine, delivering a great, sappy constellation of black cherries, red plums, cocoa, pungent notes of violets, chalky soil tones and a very deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with plenty o...

97 points Decanter: "The de Vogüé Bonnes Mares comes from a sizeable 2.7ha on red clay soils and is always the most structured and ‘masculine’ of the domaine's wines. It's dark and intense, with violet and blueberry scents, a plush, concentrated palate, stylish 35% new wood and the depth and concentration to age. Rich and very appealing. Drinking Window 2026 - 2037. (TA) " (11/2018) 93-94 points John Gilman: "The Bonnes-Mares parcel owned by the domaine was one of the most severely frosted in the vineyard in 2016, but with a green harvest, Monsieur M...

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Nicolas Potel Bonnes Mares Grand Cru ((93-95BH), (94-95RP), 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aromas of bright red raspberry and red currant and herbal distillates inform the nose of the Potel 2005 Bonnes Mares. Remarkably smooth and polished on the palate, offering a scintillating display of smoked, peppered meats, tart berries, pungent tobacco and bitter-sweet licorice, this finishes with unusual elegance, refinement and buoyancy for a Bonnes Mares, not to mention for a wine of such sheer intensity. As with so many of the best of Potel’s 2005s, there are certainly ample tannins, but these are exceedingly refined and unobtrusive. I suspect that this is hiding significant incipient complexity and would plan on giving it a decade or more to evolve. (DS)" (06/2007)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (93BH, 93RP, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru 1999 has a quite exuberant bouquet that is very floral, like somebody shoving a bouquet of freshly picked violets under your nostrils. Looking further, one finds shaved black truffles and blackcurrant pastilles, aromatics that gain confidence and chutzpah with time. The palate is medium-bodied with black cherries and hints of tobacco. This is firm and quite rigid like many 1999s, impressive more than giving at the moment, a Bonnes-Mares that clearly requires another decade in bottle to show what it is capable of. (NM) 93+" (04/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Amoureuses" (93RP, (89-92BH), 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses offers gorgeous aromas of black raspberry, bergamot, orange zest, narcissus and white pepper. Lovely deep, dark fruit shadings with subtle chalkiness and fresh, raw meatiness along with persistent inner-mouth florality inform a firmly but finely tannic and expansive palate. This really sticks to the gums, with a superb smoky, sappy, pungent persistence. (DS)" (04/2007)
Starting Bid: $1,155.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Robert Groffier Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru (95VN, 93RP, 91BH). Vinous: "Medium ruby. Knockout grand cru aromas of macerated berries, licorice, jasmine, animal fur, tar and exotic baking spices; a great example of Bonnes-Mares, showing both the floral and animal aspects of the cru. Fills the mouth with sappy sucrosity, lifted by a strong floral element. A wine of great energy, finishing with firm but sweet tannins. Makes a strong argument that great grand cru Burgundy can be made at a yield of 42 hectoliters per hectare. (ST)" (03/2002)
Starting Bid: $580.00

96 points Decanter: "One of the outstanding wines in the Perrot-Minot range in 2018, this is a selection from a 0.7ha parcel in one of Chambolle-Musigny's coolest sites. Judiciously acidified to give it some added zip and freshness, it was made with 60% whole bunches and aged in 20% new wood. Floral, sappy yet dense with strawberry and red cherry fruit and a racy finish.Drinking Window 2024 - 2030, (TA)" (10/2018) 92-94 points Vinous: "The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveau "Cuvée Ultra" has a more expressive and extroverted bouquet compared to i...

Fine and lively; wonderfully sweet and aromatic in the mid-palate. Finishes with very sweet, smooth tannins. A superb showing today. (ST)" (03/2004)
