2018 Matt Connell "Rendition" Pinot Noir Central Otago
Review Date: 10-30-2019
You absolutely need this wine on your Thanksgiving table! "Rendition" is classic Central Otago Pinot Noir expressing notes of dark fruits, violet and subtle spice and chocolate coming from the 25% new oak. It finishes dry and supple with a small touch of tannin. The winemaker has experience from top-notch producers, including one of my favorite Oregon Pinot producers, Elk Cove. This is a fantastic new direct import from New Zealand and I’m excited to try more.

2017 Diatom "Katherine's" Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay
Review Date: 05-03-2019
This is not your typical California Chardonnay. Focused with minerality and bright acid, Diatom truly shows its terroir of gravely soils, old vines and maritime climate. There is generous citrus and tropical character on the nose intertwined with subtle spice. On the palate the fruit is ripe, but with incredible salinity and wet rock to offer balance. This is a serious wine that would pair great with fresh seafood and light dishes.

Krug "Grande Cuvée" 167 Ème Édition Brut Champagne
Review Date: 05-01-2019
Krug's 167 edition is an absolute knock out of the park. It is blended with wine over 20 years old, aged 7 years on the lees and truly demonstrates great winemaking. This is a full bodied Champagne beautifully balanced with minerality, stone fruits, citrus and baked bread flavors with a long finish. This wine is 100% worth the splurge and has an abundant life ahead of it. Don't miss it!

2015 Adelaida Estate "Anna's Red" Adelaida District Red Blend
Review Date: 09-27-2018
An homage to the legendary wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, grown on steep, south-facing slopes at high elevations, this GSM blend has a dash of Petite Sirah. Rich, full-bodied, smoky dark fruits. Leather, dried herbs, scorched earth. Ripe tannins, lovely purity and balance.

2015 Deovlet "Sanford & Benedict Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Review Date: 09-27-2018
A gorgeous wine and my favorite of our Central Coast trip. Incredibly aromatic and concentrated with plump blackberries, cherries and baking spices, and extraordinary depth and elegance from an amazing vineyard!

Laurent-Perrier "Cuvée Rosé" Brut Rosé Champagne
Review Date: 09-07-2018
The Laurent Perrier Cuvee Rose is one of my favorite rose Champagnes in the store! It comes from all Grand Cru vineyards mostly in the south and north of the Montagne de Reims and is entirely Pinot Noir. It has a gorgeous salmon-pink color in the glass, and is very expressive on the nose and palate. It's full of red fruit character and richness from 5 years aging on the less. Every time I go back to this wine it never disappoints!

2016 Substance "Sunset Vineyard" Columbia Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Review Date: 09-05-2018
This Sauvignon Blanc from Washington was a pleasant surprise. It has an interesting, complex nose that is savory and flinty, reminding me of a French inspired style white. Bright citrus and stone fruits also come through on the palate along with persistent acidity and freshness. The price point is a bonus, making it a great value.

2016 Seghesio Sonoma County Zinfandel
Review Date: 07-26-2018
Seghesio's Sonoma Zinfandel is easily one of the best Zinfandels at this price point. Sourcing from all over Sonoma including Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley, this wine is nicely balanced with black and red fruits and lovely spice. A touch of Petite Sirah is added to amp up that classic California Zin character. Pair it with your barbecued meats this summer and you won't be disappointed!

2015 Roserock (Drouhin Oregon) Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir
Review Date: 06-13-2018
I became a big fan of these Roserock wines when I tasted their previous releases and this 2015 did not disappoint. Roserock is a special site on the southern tip of Eola-Amity Hills in the Willamette Valley dominated by ancient volcanic soils. This wine is beautifully balanced with floral, spice, lifted dark berries and a medium tannic structure. I highly suggest this to all the Oregon Pinot fans out there!

Woodinville Straight 100% Rye Whiskey (750ml )
Review Date: 06-12-2018
Rye fans should definitely check out this Washington handcrafted whiskey. You immediately know it’s rye from the nose by it’s rye bread and spice aromas. On the palate there’s cinnamon, cedar, spearmint, subtly fruity notes and oak character throughout. The overall body is rich and full and is a perfect candidate for your rye cocktails.

Woodinville Straight Bourbon Whiskey (750ml)
Review Date: 06-12-2018
The coolest thing about this distillery is that they are truly grain to glass. They grow all their own grains, do everything by hand and are meticulous in their craft which really shows in this whiskey. Full of flavor, Woodinville’s Straight Bourbon shows creme brulee, caramel, vanilla, spice and a nice sweet finish. Don’t miss out on this distillery's debut to California.

2015 Robert Craig Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 05-31-2018
What a truly phenomenal value for top notch Mount Veeder Cabernet! The fruit for this wine comes from the Pym Rae vineyard which is one of the highest in the AVA at over 1800 feet in elevation. This is Robert Craig's last vintage from this property, so I wouldn't hesitate to grab a bottle. The nose just screams Mount Veeder with blackberry, cherry, pencil shaving and eucalyptus character. It has a big, robust palate with firm structure that will begin to show fantastically in a few years.

2014 Keenan "Reserve" Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon
Review Date: 04-10-2018
This is an absolutely beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon from the family owned and operated Keenan winery. This solar-powered, sustainably grown property is up in the historic Spring Mountain District where Cabernet thrives and produces concentrated berries and wines that are made to last. This reserve bottling definitely shows that. Rich, dark fruit character with dried herbs and eucalyptus and a solid tannic structure. With some time spent in the cellar, this wine will shine.

2014 Amapola Creek "Monte Rosso Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Zinfandel
Review Date: 02-08-2018
This is an amazing Zinfandel at a great price point. Delicious red cherry, vanilla and spice are shown on the palate with a surprising freshness and brightness. A touch of sweetness is expressed on the mid-palate with the finish being more on the dry side. This is for sure stand out!

This is a fabulous rosé Champagne that is incredibly crisp, light and finishes super dry. It shows delicate flavors of red fruits like strawberries and cranberries. There is also an intriguing mineral character that comes through on the finish creating freshness along with the bright acidity. You can't go wrong, especially for the price!

2004 Laurent-Perrier "Cuvée Alexandra" Brut Rosé Champagne
Review Date: 09-14-2017
Wow! What a beautifully complex Champagne from Laurent Perrier. The Grand Siecle Brut is one of my favorites, so I already knew this rose would be special. The 80% Pinot Noir that's in this wine provides red berry, floral and an overall rich and decadent mouthfeel. With some food, this Champagne will be absolutely delightful!

2013 Hanzell "Estate" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay
Review Date: 03-01-2017
The 2013 Hanzell Vineyards Chardonnay is comprised of fruit from older vines on the Hanzell property averaging about 34 years old. This wine has a beautifully expressive nose showing lemon curd, fresh mango, lime zest and brioche notes coming from the lees stirring during the fermentation process. About a fourth of the wine went through malolactic fermentation creating a full, rich texture on the palette but still has that balancing acidity. Drinking fabulously now, this wine also has amazing cellaring potential and can be enjoyed ten or more years from now.

Le Brun de Neuville "Authentique Assemblage" Brut Champagne
Review Date: 02-24-2017
The Authentique Assemblage from Le Brun De Neuville definitely drinks well above its price. Aged 5 years on the lees, this wine expresses baked apple spice and nutty flavors with fresh acidity resulting in a very well-balanced, delicious bottle of bubbles. For champagne that is made with all estate fruit and lees aging, you can't go wrong for 35 bucks.

2013 Fuenteseca Huerta Singular "El Maguey" Blanco Tequila (750ml)
Review Date: 02-03-2017
This is an amazing tequila and it's honestly unlike any tequila I've tasted before. The Fuenteseca Ensamble is one of the my favorites in the store and this blanco version is just as delicious. The fact that this tequila is from a single area with a specific terroir makes it even more unique and special. It's complex and full-bodied, yet it has pure, concentrated agave aroma and flavor. This is a tequila to not miss out on!
